This is a stated First Edition with a full number line (Random House, 1972). Mr. Irving hand signed the book in ink directly on the title page. Even though his signature has become very difficult to obtain, I used to live in the small Vermont town where the Irvings live, and I had several opportunities to have him sign my copies of his books. When I asked him to sign this one, he told me, I haven t seen one of these in a long time!
The book is bright and tight. There are some small stains on the rear board (see photo) and some soiling on the top edge of the text block. The dust jacket is not price clipped ($6.95) or faded. There are some vertical creases on the front end flap and some minor soiling on the rear panel (see photos). In all, this is a very nice copy of this 46-year-old book. It is protected by a clear mylar archival cover.
My starting bid is many hundreds of dollars less than you would pay elsewhere on the internet. Alibris lowest price for a similar item is $1250. Abebooks has one for $975.
The book will be wrapped carefully and mailed in a sturdy cardboard box. Delivery Confirmation is included in the shipping costs. Insurance is extra and is recommended.
Please email any questions.
